Premier Attends MBs’ Meeting, Briefs Sitting

PUTRAJAYA, Tues: Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Haji Johari Tun Abang Haji Openg this afternoon were among those attending the Premier/Menteris Besar/Chief Ministers’ Meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office, here.

As part of the meeting’s agenda, the Premier was given a slot to brief the sitting on Sarawak’s development over the past 60 years, the way forward as outlined under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030, Sarawak’s  high income status and the renewable energy development initiatives. 

The two-and-a-half hour meeting that started at 2.00 pm was chaired by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Anwar Ibrahim. 

The Premier was given the honour by the Prime Minister to brief the Menteris Besar and Chief Ministers’ on Sarawak’s economy that had been recognised by the federal government as being ahead of other states in terms of sustainability and the development of a green economy. 

Previously, the Premier had also given a similar briefing to the federal cabinet when it sat in Kuching in conjunction with this year’s Hari Malaysia celebration that was hosted by Sarawak. 

Accompanying the Premier was the State Secretary, Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki.
